3) Sweet potatoes. They have as much beta-carotene as carrots, 50% of your daily requirement of vitamin C, as much potassium as a banana and a good amount of fiber. This all adds up to a terrific disease fighting food! 4) Cranberry sauce. This contains a cancer preventing compound called ellagic acid.
5) Figgy pudding. Figs are a good source of potassium, calcium, magnesium, and niacin. A nutritional gold mine! And finally - don't feel guilty about drinking the eggnog! Choose the low-fat variety and enjoy a holiday tradition while getting protein and calcium. But drink it in moderation - there's still lots of sugar and calories, even in the low-fat version.
